Veronica is an author and literary translator, writing in both English and French.
ABOUT VERONICA
A cosmopolitan and nomadic writer,
Veronica spends her time between the darkness of Icelandic winters and the sunny roads of French summers, never too far from her keyboard.
She has spent the last decade establishing her career as a literary translator (English>French), while publishing original stories in anthologies for the French-speaking public, under various pen names. She belongs to the writers’ collective Speculative Zebras of Iceland.
When she is not indulging in her passion for Chinese language and dramas, she manages Les Éditions HPF, a French non-profit indie publishing house for emerging authors of speculative literature.
Veronica has now finished her debut novel, A Taste of Influence, and is looking for an agent to reach the English-speaking market.

A New Adult novel about historians, influencers and vampires
Zorah is a French-Moroccan Ph.D. student who spends more time working on her niche history channel on VideYou than on her thesis. As a side gig, she reluctantly accepts to accompany the much more trending Bertille, aka Betty Gloss, to the VideWorld convention in Reykjavik, Iceland.
While Bertille is excited to make a new friend, Zorah is adamant that she is an educator, not an influencer, and has nothing in common with the make-up and lifestyle vlogger.
When Bertille, overcome by nerves, faints during the VideWorld award ceremony, a mysterious and powerful man whisks her away. Zorah finds her several hours later, wandering in the dark streets of Reykjavik, with no recollection of what happened. Back in Paris, things take on an even more sinister turn when Bertille, a long-term vegan, starts feeding on raw eggs.
I’m currently looking for an agent for this New Adult novel, complete at 89,000 words.

Two French writers, writing Icelandic dark tales in English
Dark Tales from a Boreal City is a still growing collection of short stories I am working on with my literary accomplice, Marjón. With the wintery background of Reykjavík as inspiration, they teeter on the edge between dark humor, magical realism and social commentary.
Two characters, « The girl » and Valur, face many challenges as immigrants in a strange and insular country which may or may not be a fictionalized Iceland.
Faire son trou, the French version of Landnámamús, the first story in the collection, won the À points tirés Award.
Veggblóm (Wallflower), a story in which « The girl » navigates the social awkwardness of meeting the parent’s of her boyfriend hook-up, is set to be published in the next release of Ós – The Journal.
